Hereford and South Herefordshire Conservatives are fielding a candidate in each of the 28 wards within the constituency.
Constituency Chair, Anthea McIntyre, said she is delighted with the local Conservative candidates:
“We have an excellent team who all care deeply about our County and are campaigning for positive change in Herefordshire to restore sound finances and sensible policies after four years of the Green-Independent Coalition.
“Conservatives are campaigning to get the Hereford bypass back on the agenda and to repair the dire state of our roads. We must spend resources on essential services rather than wasting ratepayers’ money on vanity projects. We need the right infrastructure, including schools, housing, leisure facilities and transport, to attract people and businesses to come to Herefordshire, to boost our local economy and bring high quality jobs to the county.”
Amongst the candidates are some returning veterans including:
Cllr Elissa Swinglehust in Llangarron
Philip Price in Golden Valley North
Steve Williams in Redhill
There are also a number of new faces including:
Michael Gray, Headmaster of Hereford Cathedral School who is standing in Central Ward
Becky Walsh, who runs her own educational consultancy standing in Ross East
John Jones, chairman of Hereford Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Association and the High Town Taxi Group, who is standing in Newton Farm
Rachel Taylor, a civil engineer and project manager who is standing in College Ward.
“Residents will be hearing more from our candidates about our campaign on the doorstep in the run up to 4th May. I urge everyone to vote for their local Conservative candidate on polling day” concluded Anthea.
