Investing in the Herefordshire economy.
Around the county over 1,000 jobs created and 60,000 sqm of workspace developed. Existing Enterprise Zone at Rotherwas continues to welcome new businesses. Supporting local jobs for local people.
Infrastructure investment supporting new roads, houses, and job opportunities.
Maintaining and improving roads, including the planned by-pass, southern relief road and Hereford city improvements. County wide improvements of A4103, A44, A438, A465 and Pembridge village.
Broadband infrastrucutre investment continued.
Broadband contineus to be at the top of the Council's agenda, with 86% of properties now able to get fast broadband. We're continuing investment to reach into the rural areas.
Investing in education - ensuring everyone gets the best start in life.
We are supporting local schools, colleges and the university with vital investment to rebuild or refurbish. Ensuring students have a positive environment to learn in.
Protecting and investing in the environment.
We are converting all street lights to energy saving LED lights - saving 17,000 tonnes of CO2. Turning household general waste into energy, reducing landfill, saving the council taxpayers' money.
Investment in social care - protecting those who need it most.
New investment in Hillside Dementia Care Centre with 25 more beds. Whilst redesigning the Community First scheme to support people in their homes for as long as possible.
